PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a fish meat paste product, having a new shape and further a voluminous feeling and splendidness even when thinly sliced and capable of producing a change in texture and appearance and provide a method for producing the fish meat paste product. SOLUTION: This fish meat paste product is formed into a shape of plural cylindrical bodies joined in the axial direction. The fish paste product is obtained by smearing plural skewers 31, 32 and 33 with a ground fish meat 34 and joining the pieces of the ground fish meat, smeared on the respective skewers and arranged side by side in an ungelled state in the axial direction. The ground fish meat in this state is heat-treated to gel. The skewers 31, 32 and 33 are then pulled out to afford the fish meat paste product assuming the form of the plural cylindrical bodies, arranged side by side and joined in the axial direction. The method for heating is any of baking, frying in oil and steaming or boiling, etc. A product such as a CHIKUWA (a bamboo-shaped, broiled fish-paste cake)-like, a KAMABOKO (a boiled or a steamed fish-paste cake)-like or a SATSUMAAGE (a fried fish ball)-like one can be obtained by selecting the method for heating. |
