PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute an ink jet type recording head with a number of nozzles by using a plurality of head units without greatly increasing the recording head width. SOLUTION: Head units in which outer wall 1a and 1b are inclined by the angleθto arranging lines A-A and B-B of pressure generating chambers 2 and 3 are constituted. A plurality of head units are shifted and fixed on a base so as to cross orthogonally in the arranging direction of the pressure generating chambers 2 and 3 so that the head units are adjacent to the faces of the pressure generating chambers 2 and 3 in the arranging direction, and that intervals of the pressure generating chambers 2 and 3 of the head units facing each other are same as the intervals of the pressure generating chambers 2 and 3 of respective head units themselves. When outer walls 1a and 1b of the head units facing each other are shifted in parallel, they are also shifted in the arranging direction of the pressure generating chambers 2 and 3, and the nozzle opening of a plurality of heat units can be disposed in the same pitch, while the width of the whole of the recording head is kept as small as possible.
