PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a defoaming agent by using a polyglycerol ester of a fatty acid, having a specific polymerization degree of polyglycerol, a specified kind of the fatty acid and a specific saponification value as an active component, having excellent defoaming effects and capable of preventing a canned beverage from jetting out or scattering. SOLUTION: This defoaming agent is obtained by using one or more of (A) a polyglycerol ester of a fatty acid having 4-12 average polymerization degree of polyglycerol and 70-100 or 120-160 saponification degree in which >=80wt.% constituent fatty acid is a 16-18C unsaturated fatty acid. (B) a polyglycerol ester of the fatty acid having 4-12 average polymerization degree of the polyglycerol and 120-200 saponification degree in which >=80wt.% constituent fatty acid is an 8-14C saturated fatty acid and (C) a polyglycerol ester of the fatty acid having 4-12 average polymerization degree of the polyglycerol and 130-150 saponification degree in which >=80wt.% constituent fatty acid is a 20-24C unsaturated fatty acid at (1:5) to (5:1) weight ratio of the components (A): (B) and adding 1-50wt.% polyglycerol ester of the fatty acid and a dispersing agent having >=5 hydrophile-lipophile balance(HLB) in an amount of 0.01-20wt.% based on the polyglycerol ester of the fatty acid to an aqueous medium. |
