PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To electrically search improving information by providing a connector capable of connecting improving information such as an additional text, figure, sound, etc., stored in a memory device fixed to a book to an external computer. SOLUTION: Printed work 11 such as the book, etc., with a stitching part 14, a front cover 15, a back cover 16, a back 17 and plural pages 18 is included. In addition a device 10 stores other optional information concerning an electronic index and the printed work 11 and is provided with an illustrating integrated circuit memory chip 20 fixed to the back cover 16. Then this chip 20 is electrically connected to the removable connector 22 by a ribbon cable 21 to be connected to an access device 30 to a hand-held (portable) computer 31, etc., with a user interface 32 such as a display 34 through an interface cable 24 and a communication interface 25.
