DETERMINATION OF ENZYMATIC ACTIVITY AND APPARATUS THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for the determination of enzymatic activity and a determination apparatus therefor capable of simultaneously determining the activities of plural kinds of enzymes by using a small amount of reagent in shortened analysis time at reduced analysis cost. SOLUTION: A specimen containing a plurality of testing enzymes is mixed with substrates specific to respective enzymes and the activities of the plural enzymes in the specimen are determined at the same time from an infrared absorption spectrum of the specimen. The determination apparatus is provided with an infrared source 9, a means for projecting the infrared rays to the specimen, a detector 11 for detecting the light transmitted through or reflected by the specimen and a processor for processing the detected signals. It is further provided with a means for holding a reagent consisting of a mixture of at least two kinds of substrates specific to the testing enzymes and a means for introducing the reagent into the specimen.
