PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of preventing toner scattering from the end of a developer carrier (sleeve) and obtaining a high-quality image over a long term. SOLUTION: This developing device is provided with a developer carrier 1 and a developer regulating member 2. The developer carrier 1 is provided with a conductive coating layer on its surface, and the coating layer is formed of coating material containing at least binding resin and resin particles whose number average particle size is 0.3 to 30μm and inorganic powder is attached or fixed on the surface or near the surface. Then, a developer scraping member 3 is allowed to abut on the surface of the coating layer. |
