PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the convenience of use for the user in the case of facsimile transmission by adding a facsimile transmission function to a video telephone set connected via a public line network. SOLUTION: In facsimile transmission functions shown in figure, a writings and pictures camera 101 picks up an image of an object and receives an image signal for facsimile transmission and a display section 102 displays the image signal. A facsimile coding section 108 codes an image signal displayed by the display section 102 when a facsimile transmission command is received from a touch panel 103, and the coded image signal is transmitted. Thus, the user confirms an image of recording paper at a facsimile equipment of a transmission destination on which the image signal is outputted by the display section 102. Furthermore, the information terminal function is added and a database managed by a center equipment is used to make reservation with respect to various installations is conducted.
