PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the diversity gain without degrading communication quality even on the occurrence of interference or external noise by selecting an antenna while taking a bit error rate of received data into account. SOLUTION: A reception electric field strength detection means 15 detects the magnitude of reception electric field strength based on received data demodulated by a reception section 14. A bit error detection means 16 provides an output of a bit error and a bit error rate measurement means 17 detects a bit error rate. An antenna changeover discrimination means 19 reads the magnitude of a current reception detection section from the reception electric field strength detection means 15 and compares it with a prescribed threshold level. Even when the reception electric field strength is lower than the threshold level, when the bit error rate is less than the threshold level, no antenna switching signal is outputted. When the bit error rate is more than the threshold level, an antenna switching signal is fed to an antenna changeover device 13. |
