PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bacterium-analyzing device capable of easily and accurately counting the number of bacterial colonies formed in a culture medium layer after culture and further capable of continuously and efficiently carrying out works for forming the agar culture medium layers. SOLUTION: This device for analyzing bacteria is provided with a specimen- injecting means 13 for injecting specimen into plates, a solution-injecting means 24 for injecting an agar-containing solution into the plates, a stirring means 25 for stirring the specimen and the culture medium solution injected into the plates, a culture section for hardening the specimen injection into the plate and culture solution, and subsequently culturing the formed specimen culture medium layer at a prescribed temperature, a transfer means 51 for transferring the plates, an image scanner 68 for photographing the culture medium layer to read the image data, and a control means 80 for outputting control signals for operating the specimen-injecting means 13, the solution-injecting means 24, the stirring means 25 and the transfer means 51 on the basis of preliminary set operation program.
