PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set and release an automatic answering function of a master Set automatically by providing a control means to send a control signal to a master set in response to a reception state of a transmission signal from the master set to a slave set. SOLUTION: A slave set 30 is used as a portable telephone set at an outdoor place. A control section 14 of a master set 10 sends a signal to the slave set 30 in a steady-state. A control section 34 of the slave set 30 detects an electric field strength of a transmission signal from the master set 10 and sends a command of an automatic answering set when the detected electric field strength is a prescribed level or below and the state of the prescribed level or below is detected for a prescribed time. The master set 10 receives the command to set an automatic answering function. The control section 34 of the slave set 30 sends a command of releasing the automatic answering setting when it is discriminated that the electric field strength of a transmission signal from the master set 10 is a prescribed level or over. |
