PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a device both as a wet type and a dry type by providing with a metal made flange member which is provided with a seal member for installing a starter main body in a condition according to the installing condition of an engine. SOLUTION: A cast iron made flange member 22 is provided with a three engine installing holes 22a which are an installing part of the cylinder block 16 of an engine, and 16 pieces of housing installing holes 22b which are the installing part of a front housing 21. The housing installing holes 22b are arranged on the same circumferential part so as to change the installing angle of the front housing 21. A starter main body is installed through an O-ring 23 as a seal member in a condition according to the installing condition of the engine by the flange member 22 constituted in such manner. It is thus possible to use a device both as a wet type and a dry type. |
