The heater has an absorbing wall (5) fed with liquid fuel and backed by a glow plug ignition system (12). This is mounted on the inside of the cover plate (1) which seals the heater, and is connected to the electric supply by - leads bonded through the cover. The absorbent wall is mounted on a pot shaped support (4). - The system is sealed by an O-ring on an outside flange seal. A flame monitor head is set through the absorbent wall into the combustion chamber. The glow plug is rigidly attached to the end cover.
