The controller has a transmitter for wireless signal transfer. A receiver mounted in the vehicle causes the closure to be brought into the open position when the signal is received from the controller. The transmitter sends out the signal at equal intervals. The transmission operation is indicated by the transmitter and the transmitter is deactivated before a defined time expires. The transmitter can be deactivated by a deactivation button. The transmitter power is selected so that the signal can only be received when the transmitter is within a few metres of the receiver.
