The present invention relates to a child resistant package. The child resistant package according to the present invention comprises a container (10), a transition piece (12) and a closure (14). The pushtab (30) and the interlocking tooth (32) form the child resistant feature of the package of the present invention. The transition piece (12) and the closure (14) are connected by a breakable connection (40) such that said transition piece and said closure are molded as a single piece in one molding process and said closure can be disconnected from said transition piece when said package is opened for the first time.
