The pump system includes a centrifugal pump (1) and a venting pump (9). The induction side (4) and compression side (5) of the centrifugal pump can be connected to at least one induction hose (8) and one compression hose (6). Both sides of the centrifugal pump are connected to the induction side of the venting pump, which is operative or inoperative, depending on the pressure at its induction side. The induction and compression sides of the centrifugal pump are connected to the venting pump via a control valve (12).
