The floor covering may be used in offices etc. and may be self-adhesive. The undersides of the floor covering modules are flat and are covered with adhesive material. A covering layer made of thin foil is added to the adhesive side during manufacture, enabling the carpet or other covering to be rolled up for convenience in transport. The layer of adhesive material may be designed to stick very firmly to the underlying floor and only weakly to the carpet.
