<p>A probe (22) with two light pipes (46, 48) and two prisms (52, 54) affixed to the ends of the light pipes (46, 48). A light beam having a wavelength in the infrared range is combined with a light beam having a wavelength in the visible range to form a combined beam (36). The detection apparatus directs the combined beam (36) through a probe volume (24) between the faces of the prisms (52, 54) to detect the concentration of the hydrocarbon vapor.</p> |
