<p>This gnomon is used in the sundial industry and in everyday life for reading the time. This gnomon ensures a maximal approximation of the sundial reading to the official time, where the error is within the margin of +/- 2 minutes. This gnomon is designed like a three-dimensional asymmetric body (1) shaped like a three-dimensional figure 'eight' protracted along its longitudinal axis (2), where the three-dimensional asymmetric body (1) casts a shadow shaped like a stripe which stripe is bordered by a right bordering linear shadow A and a left bordering linear shadow B, where the latter two linear shadows cross the time indicia (12) in points A' and B', and where the time is read by the latter two points.</p> |
