<p>A connecting device for use between a first and a second element (10, 20) in a civil engineering construction, where it enables relative movement of the first and second structural elements (10, 20) in the event of slow motion, and at least partially prevents relative movement of the first and second structural elements (10, 20) in the event of rapid motion. The device comprises a cylinder (30) that is stationary relative to the first structural element (10) and defines two chambers (31, 32) containing a fluid material and interconnected via a channel (39). Said cylinder (30) comprises a fixed wall (33) separating said two chambers (31, 32), and each chamber is defined by a movable piston (37, 38) on the opposite side from said wall (33), both of the movable pistons (37, 38) being secured to said second structural element (20).</p> |
