The imbalance compensation system uses at least 3 balancing chambers (13) spaced around the periphery of the rotating rotor (2), each having an entry opening (14) for supplying a given quantity of a fluid (9) of specific weight. A regulation device controls the supply of fluid to each of the chambers, for simple mechanical balancing of the rotor, with closure elements (17) for the balancing chamber entry openings opened and closed in dependence on the detected imbalance.
