The boot is connected to the snow-board either directly or via a holder (1). There is at least one lateral recess (3) in the side of the boot or the holder to receive a projection on the fastening. The recess has sloping upper and lower walls, and lateral walls on the toe and heel sides which prevent any forward or backward movement once the boot is fastened. The boot holder is injection-moulded, e.g. from an elastomer material such as polyurethane, nylon or a thermoplastic rubber. It can incorporate metal reinforcing plates for the fastening recesses.
