<p>A preform, a process for forming the preform and a container formed from the preform are disclosed. The preform comprises a tubular body portion (12) having an open end (16) and a closed end (18). At a location near the open end (16), a flange (20) extends outwardly from the tubular body portion (12). A closure retaining element (14) is provided for engaging a closure. The closure retaining element (14) is formed separately from the tubular body portion (12) and includes a manner for attachment to the tubular body portion (12). The closure retaining element (14) is attached to the tubular body portion (12) adjacent the flange (20) via the manner for attachment.</p> |
