The removing device (4) consists of a roll formed from two successive longitudinal shafts (10,11), which turns round their longitudinal axes. The shafts can be moved in or out longitudinally. There is a cam part (8) projecting from the roll surface between the ends of the shafts. As the roll rotates, the cam part can be engaged with the binding wire so that the wire can be wound on the roll. The shafts can then be parted and the cam part withdrawn inwards so that the wire can be removed.
