Optical disc recording and reproducing equipment

The equipment has a turntable (1) driven by the spindle motor (8) for controlling the speed of rotation of the disc. There is an optical scanner (2) for projecting a laser beam on the disc and for detecting the reflected light. A reproduction signal processing section (3) receives the electrical signals from the scanner, and supplies a focussing control signal (Fe). The processing section also provides a tracking control signal (Te) and an HF reproduction signal (RF) that is received by an equaliser unit (4) for correcting the distortion of this reproduction signal. The resulting signal goes to the channel bit reproduction interface unit (5) for determining the zero points. The scanner has a laser diode (LD) and a beam divider (BS).
