Plasmid vaccine for pseudorabies virus

A vaccine including at least one plasmid coding for pseudorabies virus (PRV) glycoprotein gIII, or for a protein having the same antigenicity as PRV glycoprotein gIII, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, is disclosed. The pEVhis14gIII plasmid used for making a vaccine is also disclosed.
