<p>PURPOSE:To suppress the generation of shock by switching valve operating characteristic on the basis of the formed switching conditions when the output torque of a transmission is equal to a predicted switching output torque, and also releasing correction of transmitting torque capacity. CONSTITUTION:In a case such that the output torque of an engine E is fluctuated by the switching of operating characteristic of intake and exhaust valves by a variable valve timing lift mechanism VT, a control unit CU gradually corrects the transmission torque capacity of an automatic transmission AT in such a manner as not to form a rapid torque change, so that the engine torque after switching or a predicted switching transmission output torque corresponding to a predicted switching engine torque can be obtained. When the transmission output torque becomes the predicted switching output torque by this correction, switching of the valve operating characteristic and release of the correction are simultaneously conducted. Hence, even when the engine output is fluctuated according to the switching of the valve operating characteristic, fluctuation of the transmission output torque becomes gentle, and the generation of shock can be suppressed.</p> |
