摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To correct broadening of emitting electrons into an elliptical shape so as to enhance efficiency and obtain a desired beam shape depending upon combination of electrode shapes by providing an electron emitting portion including a particle at a local part between a pair of electrodes. CONSTITUTION:After two electrodes 3 and 4 are oppositely provided on an insulative substrate 1, a particle 2 made of desired electron emitting material is distributed at a desired density at a part of a fine space (an electrode gap) between the electrodes 3 and 4, thereby forming an element. The particle 2 is made of such material as to be easy in field emission of electrons or secondary electron emission or such material as to be liable to emit electrons by effect of electron impact and also excellent in heat and corrosion resistance, for example, metal such as W, Ti, Au, Ag and Cu having low work function and high heat resistance, oxide such as SnO2, In2O3, BaO and MgO, or carbon.</p>
