PURPOSE:To automatically lay down pipes to form a curve along a planed track. CONSTITUTION:The distance between openings which must be set between the front and rear pipes 1 which have reached a changing point of a planned track is input in advance in a controller 22 as the planned track data. The transferred distance of respective pipes 1 is calculated from the thrusted distance on the basis of signals out of an intermediate thrusting sensor 12 and a base thrusting sensor 17 and the average stroke on the basis of signals from respective openning adjustment detecting sensors 5 at respective opening adjusting jacks 2, in the controller 22. When the transferred distance of respective pipes 1 has reached the distance from the initial point to the changing point, the actuation of respective opening adjustment jacks for the distance between the front and rear pipes 1 which have reached the changing point is controlled by the controller 22 so that a specified distance is set between the front and rear pipes 1 on the basis of the planed track data.
