Improved charge generation layer in an electrophotographic imaging member

An electrophotographic imaging member comprises a support substrate with a two layer electrically conductive ground plane layer comprising a Zr-contg. layer on a Ti-contg. layer. The substrate carries: (a) a hole blocking layer; (b) an adhesive layer contg. a copolyester film forming resin; (c) an intermediate layer which contacts the adhesive layer and contains a film forming carbazole polymer; (d) a charge generation layer comprising perylene or phthalocyanine particles dispersed in a blend of polycarbonate and carbazole polymer; and (e) a hole transport layer. The transport layer is non-absorbing in the spectral region at which the generation layer generates and injects holes but is capable of supporting and transporting the injected holes.
