<p>PURPOSE:To accurately detect the position where temp. abnormality is generated in the vicinity of the boundary of maintenance sections by arranging detection optical fibers of two different systems along the area in the vicinity of the respective maintenance sections of a fluid pipeline in a partial overlap state. CONSTITUTION:Separate optical fiber 5A, 5B are arranged to a plurality of the maintenance sections 2A, 2B of a fluid pipeline 1 so as to be laid along the pipeline 1 and respectively connected to Raman scattering optical fiber ditribution type temp. sensor measuring parts 6A, 6B. A part of the fibers 5A, 5B is arranged along a section boundary area 4A. The electric signals from the measuring parts 6A, 6B are subjected to operational processing by a host computer 9 to calculate the temp. distributions of the fibers 5A, 5B in the longitudinal direction thereof and the peak positions (trouble generating positions) P of the temp. changes thereof. When the peak positions P are present within the area 4A, the data obtained on the basis of the signals from the fibers 5A, 5B are subjected to operational processing and, therefore, it can be accurately and rapidly detected which section among the sections 2A, 2B the trouble generating positions P belong to.</p> |
