PURPOSE:To prolong the service life of a bearing by constituting a sliding part sliding on a roll shaft by the use of a carbon material in which pores are filled with silicon carbide and also providing a molten metal groove to the sliding part. CONSTITUTION:For example, a sliding part of a bearing 8 of a sink roll 1 is constituted of a carbon material prepared by impregnating a carbon material of 1.78 bulk density and 100 Shore hardness with a liquid compound in which boric acid (hardener) is added and mixed into polycarbosilane and filling pores with silicon carbide by means of heat treatment. Further, a molten metal groove 9 is provided to the above sliding part. By this method, the occurrence of reaction and erosion due to molten metal in the sliding part is reduced and also carbon wear particle, sludge, etc., infiltrating into the clearance between a shaft 7 and the bearing 8 is excluded by means of the molten metal groove 9, by which the occurrence of wear at the sliding surface can also be prevented. |
