PURPOSE:To increase the wear resistance and strength of light calcium silicate molded form by adding alkali silicate substance to a raw material slurry contg. silicate raw material, lime raw material and water, and by hydrothermally reacting. CONSTITUTION:The raw material slurry contg. silicate raw material, lime raw material and water is hydrothermally reacted under pressure while heating and stirring to prepare an aq. slurry of calcium silicate crystals, and the slurry is molded and dried to form calcium silicate molded form. In the process above- mentioned, at least one kind of alkali silicate substances among sodium silicate and potassium silicate is made to exist in the raw material slurry and the raw material slurry is hydrothermally reacted in the presence of the substance(s). The amt. of the alkali silicate substance to be used is preferably 0.3-3wt.%, expressed in terms of M2O (where M is sodium or potassium) in the alkali silicate substance, to the total weight of silicate raw material and lime raw material. |
