PURPOSE:To stabilize the characteristic of electrical viscous fluid by applying AC voltage onto the electrical viscous fluid in order to prevent concentration or accumulation onto an electrode or charging of particle and performing variable control of the frequency of applying voltage corresponding to travel state thereby controlling the viscosity of the electrical viscous fluid. CONSTITUTION:AC voltage is applied from an AC power source (AC voltage generating means) 15 onto the electrical viscous fluid in an orifice 10, where the frequency of the AC voltage is varied base on the detection result of an acceleration detector (vibration detecting means) 13. Since the electrical fields of electrodes 8, 9 change alternately and do not exhibit fixed polarity, concentration or accumulation of the electrical viscous fluid in the vicinity of the electrodes 8, 9 or charging of particles contained in the electrical viscous fluid is prevented, thus exhibiting vibration damping performance sufficiently for a long term. When the frequency of AC voltage is varied corresponding to the vibration frequency, viscosity characteristic of the electrical viscous fluid varies to initiate open/close operation of the orifice 10. Consequently, damping characteristic of mount can be controlled corresponding to vibration. |
