METHOD FOR TRANSMISSION OF DIGITAL SIGNAL STRUCTURED HIERARCHICALLY INTO PLURAL PARTS, CODER AND DECODER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain hierarchical transmission of digital signals in which higher error security by protecting header information items specifically so as to eliminate an error of visibility for a long time. SOLUTION: A header information item HDP2 of an HD2 type data stream is sent through a channel 2 better protected with an HD1 type data stream HD1. A header information item HDP1 of an HD1 type data stream is sent through a channel 1 2nd better protected. In the case of a transmission system of a video signal with conventional TV resolution, that is, a high definition TV transmission system, a video signal including a related header information item TVP is sent through the sub channel. Thus, an error of visibility for a long time is eliminated. Thus, the hierarchical transmission of digital signals is attained, in which higher error protection is realized.
