<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable immediate transition from a screen protection state to a usable state by providing a screen protecting mechanism which makes a display part dark by decreasing a luminance value stored in a look-up table when a timer detects there being no input for a certain time. SOLUTION: A CPU 1 executes the control program and application program of the screen protecting mechanism stored in a RAM 2. A pixel value stored in a video memory 3 is converted into a luminance value stored in the look-up table(LUT) 4 in order, and sent to and displayed at a display part 5. The timer 8 detects there being no input from a keyboard 6 and a pointing device 7 for the certain time and informs the CPU 1 of that. When there is no input for a certain time, the luminance value stored in the LUT 4 is made small to darken the display part 5, so the immediate shift from the screen protection state to the usable state can be made.</p> |
