PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent developer which has fallen from sticking onto a transfer material by providing a developer receiving member, and receiving developer which is discharged from a developing area and falls by itself toward a transfer- material carrying path which is below it. SOLUTION: An opening which faces a photoreceptive drum is made in the casing of each developing device, and a developing roller 84 is provided in a developing chamber so that a part of it is exposed via this opening. A toner receiving member 330 as the developer receiving member, so composed of a rigid body as to cover the periphery of the developing unit which is below the opening of the developing device, is detachably fixed to a storage base 46 with a fixing screw. By the provision of the toner receiving member 330, even in case toner falls onto a carrying belt from the opening of the developing device, the toner is received by the toner receiving member before reaching the surface of the carrying belt. Therefore, it does not reach the surface of transfer paper which is carried in a place lower than the opening of the developing device, and soil on the transfer paper with toner which has fallen can be prevented. |
