PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive cleaning tool for man conveyor capable of exerting certain cleaning effect regardless of the amount of dust and its constituent substance without any obstacle even if oil receiving plates include an, inversive connected joint. SOLUTION: The tip of an escalator cleaning tool 2 is drawn in under the upper inversion part of an endless conveyor in such a way as facing in the inversive running direction, and a mounting member 2d at the tail is mounted on the front wheel shaft 1 rotatably. The foremost surface of a rotatable dust scratching plate 3 at the tip of a bottom plate maintained so that the contacting angle is between 30 deg.<=θ60 deg. by the own weight of the cleaning tool 2 forms a rising angle to the surface of an oil receiving plate 4 as ranging 30 deg.<=θ<=70 deg., and the escalator is put in rising operation at a low speed while the surface is put in contact with the plate 4. If the cleaning tool 2 is put in a frictional run on the oil receiving plate 4 in the area from its upper part to the inclined running part and lower part, the dust (d) deposited on the plate 4 in this process while it is passing smoothly over the inverse joint of oil receiving plates, is raked together.
