<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously carry sheets without generating problems such as jam by setting a time until delay jam is recognized by a jam detecting means to be long by adding a margin portion to it, when the length of a sheet in the sheet carrying direction is recognized less than a prescribed length. SOLUTION: A first sheet is fed from a hand-operated feed roller 23, and at first after detecting the extreme end of the sheet by a resist sensor 6, a timer is started which is provided in a control part. When the extreme end of the sheet is not detected by a discharge sensor 19 even after the lapse of a prescribed time T1 and the sheet is detected by the resist sensor 6, it is recognized to be discharge delayed jam of the sheet. However, the time T1 is set to be a time adding a margin portion to a time obtained by dividing the distance of carrying course from the resist sensor 6 to the discharge sensor 19 by the carrying speed of the sheet, and it allows delay of the carrying time by the reason such as slip of the sheet.</p> |
