摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure automatically following stable travel at a proper vehicle-to- vehicle distance by comparing a speed difference between an owned vehicle speed and a preceding vehicle speed with a preset value and adjusting a vehicle- to-vehicle distance corresponding to the owned vehicle speed or the preceding vehicle speed in accordance with the result. SOLUTION: A target vehicle-to-vehicle distance adjusting means 32 compares a speed difference between an owned vehicle speed 22 and a preceding vehicle speed 29 with a preset value and, if the speed difference exceeds the preset value, makes indication data for a vehicle-to-vehicle distance proportional to the grade of the owned vehicle speed 22. When the speed difference in turn does not exceed the preset value, it makes indication data for a vehicle-to- vehicle distance proportional to the grade of the preceding vehicle speed 29. In this way, automatically following stable travel at a proper vehicle-to-vehicle distance is ensured.
