PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To visually find fatigue crack generated at a structure member for supporting, for example, a bridge beam earlier. SOLUTION: A device for monitoring the crack of a structure member consists of a flange part 12a made of I-type steel 12 where an wedge-shaped cut-out 13 is formed and a reinforcing plate 14 which is assembled near the cut-out 13 of the flange part 13 and instructs the growth limit of the cut-out 13 corresponding to fatigue limit while compensating the reduction of strength due to the formation of the cut-out 13. By forming the cut-out 13 at the flange part 12a itself which is the structure member, the degree of fatigue of the flange part 12a can be understood under the actual stress environment which the flange part 12a receives and the crack fatigue of the flange part 12a can be positively and accurately inspected. |
