PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record and reproduce auxiliary digital information concerning musical sound or performance of musical instruments in an auxiliary area of a recording medium. SOLUTION: A PCM(pulse Code Modulation) signal digitalized from a musical sound signal is recorded on a main information recording area of a recording medium, and also auxiliary digital information such as MIDI(Musical Instrument Digital Interface) code, etc., associated with the musical instrument control or tone-color in an auxiliary information recording area S which is formed from the main information recording area M independently from each other at a prescribed interval. And at the time of reproducing, the auxiliary digital signals such as the PCM signal, MIDI codes, etc., are reproduced from a single track on a same recording medium, and the auxiliary digital information such as reproduced MIDI codes, etc., are supplied to a prescribed corresponding sound source generation unit so that it is controlled. |
