PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a refractory mortal material used in the continuous casting of a molten metal, excellent in plasticity and small in secular change. SOLUTION: This refractory mortal material contains a mixture of 92-97wt.% refractory mixed material consisting of a refractory raw material and a fine resisting fiber with 3-8wt.% flake graphite, 0.5-3wt.% silica fume having <=5μm average particle diameter and 27-32wt.% mixture of a thermosetting resin and an aliphatic polyhydric alcohol of the thermosetting resin/aliphatic polyhydric alcohol weight ratio of 1.5-2.0 by external addition based on the above refractory mixture. The aliphatic polyhydric alcohol in the refractory mortal material is preferably ethylene glycol and the silica fume has <=0.15μm average particle diameter of the primary particle and <=5μm average particle diameter of the secondary particle. |
