<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably feed fuel even though the level of fuel is low, by arranging a fuel reservoir canister in the bottom part of a fuel tank, and by installing a fuel pump and a valve module communicated with the inlet passage of the pump on the bottom wall of the tank so that the valve module is opened when the fuel is laterally shifted by its inertia. SOLUTION: A leg 34 is incorporated with a fuel reservoir canister 25 laid on the bottom wall 38 of a fuel tank 12, and a motor-driven fuel pump 14 is laid on the bottom wall 32 at the lower end thereof, and a main filter 18 for fuel in the tank 12 is connected to the inlet port 16 of the pump, and a regulator is coupled to an outlet nipple 20 thereof. A foot valve 46 is provided to an inlet fitting 40 of the fuel pump 14, and is connected thereto with a reservoir valve module 70 through the intermediary of an inlet bypass passage 50. This valve module 70 is composed of a valve seat cup 72 and a cup cap 74 associated with the former, and incorporates a cup-like valve element 140 floating in a valve chamber 120 and a spherical valve element 142 cooperating with the element 140.</p> |
