PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily decide whether an image is a color image or black-and- white image by pages or areas by providing a dividing means, a decision means, a holding means, and an output control means. SOLUTION: Image data read by an image input device 21 are divided by an IPS-CPU part (dividing means) 2 into plural pages or areas and an ACS part (decision means) decides whether the document image is a color image or black-and-white image by the pages or areas. According to the decision result, a PS-CPU part (output control means) outputs color images or black-and- white images by an image output device by the pages or areas. Therefore, even if color images and black-and-white images are mixed as document images, they can be outputted as color images or black-and-white images by the pages or areas. Consequently, color output is not performed for an area where a black-and-white image is drawn to save a developer and shorten a development time as a result. |
