<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the power source of peripheral equipment such as a monitor corresponding to the switching operation of computer even without providing any special switch by switching a power source circuit through a microprocessor inside the peripheral equipment. SOLUTION: When power is supplied to a main body 100 of computer, a microprocessor MPU outputs a 'high' signal to an output terminal Xo, and a switching transistor Q1 is turned on. When a power saving mode signal is sent from the main body 100 of computer, the microprocessor MPU correspondently outputs a power saving mode signal to that output terminal as well, and a monitor 200 is operated in a power saving mode state for fixed time as well. When the power source of computer is turned off after a user finishes using it, the signal at the output terminal Xo of the microprocessor MPU is made 'low'. Therefore, the transistor Q1 is turned off and further, a power source switching relay RL is turned off. As a result, the supply of power to be impressed to the monitor 200 is cut off.</p> |
