PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a waterproof door capable of preventing intrusion of rainwater in a strong wind by a method wherein the height of a sill provided with a drainageway is set higher than a head brought about by wind pressure load calculated by a specified formula wherein design load is set at a square of design wind velocity. SOLUTION: The height (h) of sills 22a and 22b at the lower part of a door frame provided for prevention of intrusion and leakage of water through a door assembly 10 is desirable to be the same as or larger than a value obtained by calculation executed with a formula wherein a head is 0.192×withstand water pressure, the withstand water pressure is 0.15×design wind load pressure, and design wind load pressure is 0.00256×square of pre-selected design wind velocity. For instance, the height (h) for the sill available for coping with a selected wind velocity equivalent to a storm with wind in wind velocity of 150MPH shall be 1.75inch, or at least 1.66inch. A gasket 26 is provided at the sill so that moisture or condensed water skirting round the door and sill can be intercepted and discharged to the outside through a drainageway trough 28 and a drainage hole 30b. Therefore, a waterproof door preventing leakage can be obtained.
