摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new gene, capable of coding a human EP52 protein having a specific amino acid sequence, comprising a partially mutated nucleotide thereof and useful for production, etc., of EP52 having a catalytic activity for a disulfide bong exchange reaction and Ca-bonding properties. SOLUTION: This new human EP52 gene is capable of coding a human protein disulfide isomerase(PDI) like enzyme, EP52 protein, having an amino acid sequence represented by the formula or a modified DNA in which one or more nucleotides are deficient, substituted or added and is useful for production, etc., of EP52 having catalytic activities for a disulfide bond exchange reaction and further strong calcium ion-bonding activities. The gene is obtained by extracting the whole RNA from a normal human epidermal keratinized cell according to a conventional method, synthesizing a cDNA by using the resultant whole RNA, then amplifying the cDNA with a primer pair synthesized on the basis of a DNA sequence having both the N,C-terminals in a rat EP52 and cloning the amplified cDNA.
