PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device having a low and compact shape and surely and easily extracting and handling a plate-like object in the automated environment. SOLUTION: This device extracting a CD having a center hole section from a stack is provided with a gripper mechanism 4, a stack magazine 2 having a shaft 22 inserted into the center hole sections of the CDs in the stack and extended in the vertical direction, and a lift mechanism 5 for the stack. An upward inclined region 23 is formed at the upper end of the shaft 22, the CD lifted to the inclined region 23 by the lift mechanism 5 is moved in the horizontal direction along the shaft 22 by a moving means 3, and the CD moved in the horizontal direction by the moving means 3 and located at the uppermost position in the stack is held by the gripper mechanism 4.
