PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a release film which has a release layer surface being free from cissing on the occasion of coating with a coating liquid and being peelable by a moderate force in regard to various resin sheets, resin films, ceramic sheets, etc., and of which the thermal shrinkage and thermal deformation due to heating are very small. SOLUTION: A release layer of which the maximum surface tension (γL max.) determined by the formulaγL max.=1/b+γc/2 (where (b) denotes the constant determined from a Zisman plot andγc the critical surface tension) is 50-90 dyne/cm is provided at least on one surface of a polyethylene-2,6- naphthalate film.
