PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to effectively prevent a disaster occurring due to the entrance of a person into a gap between printing units at the time of automatically plate replacing. SOLUTION: The automatic plate replacing safety device comprises area sensors 22a, 22b, 23a, 23b provided in a gap between a plurality of printing units 1 and 2, pushbutton switches 25 provided on the sides of the units 1, 2, and a control power source switching circuit provided in the controller of a printer, inputting a confirmed signal by the switch 25 to make the controller in an automatic plate replacement start enabling state, inputting invasion signals from the sensors 22a, 22b, 23a, 23b to emergency stop the automatic plate replacing operation. Thus, since the automatic plate replacing operation can be started only if no person exists in the gap between the units 1 and 2 and it emergency stops when the person invades the gap during the operating, the safety at the time of automatically replacing the plate of the printer can be largely improved. |
